My grandmother’s used to make these donuts. A short, chubby old woman who used wooden stool to get to the stove. I think about my grandmother every day. I miss her very much. Maybe that’s why this year I decided to make these donuts.
So why should you make these donuts instead of the regular ones? It’s easy to make, no waiting time to the dough to rise and they absolutely delicious!
I hope you’ll like it ❤
Serves: 15-20
Ingredients
2.5 cups of all-purpose flour
1.5 teaspoon of baking powder
Half a cup of sugar
4-6 tablespoons of milk
400 gr. Of sour cream (regular\ light)
2 eggs
1.5 teaspoon of vanilla sugar
Enough oil for deep frying
Instructions
Put in the mixer or bowl all the ingredients except the milk and mix well.
Add 4 tablespoons milk and mix. The texture supposed to be sticky and very soft. So if the dough is not sticky after adding 4 tablespoons of milk add 2 more tablespoons of milk and mix.
Heat oil in a saucepan (about half a pot for deep frying is enough).
You may check if the oil is hot enough with a wooden spoon. Put it in the pot, and if bubbles appears around it the oil is hot enough and ready. Fry the donuts on medium hit.
Use two tablespoons to put the dough in the oil. Do not put a too much dough in every tablespoon because it swells.
Fry the donuts until golden on both sides and remove from the oil to absorbent paper.
You will create fun shapes of donuts – which is one of the parts I loved most as a little girl.
