ChalkBoard Painting

I love unique items that no one has besides me; that is why I have a problem with big manufacturer brands. I don’t like to buy something that I will see in another house. So you can probably understand my great love for second hand stores as I have mentioned before.
When we designed the new apartment it took us a long time. Although I am a house wife, and supposedly I can fill my time in designing the house, I have to take into consideration Dima’s taste. Yes, it turns out that there are some men with an opinion when it gets to designing – and worst of all is that Dima and I have a very different taste so it takes us a lot of time to find something that we both like.
We had an empty and dull wall in the kitchen that I did not know what to do with it – and finally when I had an idea Dima rejected it.
In the end, we reached an agreement, and the idea of a collage of chalk boards was born. At first we thought about menus, maybe drawing posters of beer, and finally I thought it would be nicer to draw lots of different light bulbs. Our kitchen is a “New York kitchen” which means it has no window and, therefore, there is not enough light; I thought it would be a bit ironic to draw the bulbs it and maybe it would give us the illusion of brighter room.

3. When the frames and the glass are dry, attach them back together and draw light bulbs on them with chalk marker. Chalk marker can be erased in the first few minutes with a baby wipes but after a while it is very difficult to wipe it, so plan carefully you’re drawing.
